And there is no end in sight!
24 Friday Dec 2010
I’m still trying to understand why our country want to punish those who are successful. Clearly, the losers will always outnumber the winners and we all know how they love to loot.

So gramps, you like my 17 year-old daughter?
Fathers love their daughters. Sometimes their children make bad decisions. Sometimes father’s have to step in and “fix” things. Read the story!

Friedrich Hayek
In 1978 Hayek came into conflict with the Liberal Party leader David Steel who claimed that liberty was only possible with “social justice and an equitable distribution of wealth and power, which in turn require a degree of active government intervention” and that the Conservative Party were more concerned with the connection between liberty and private enterprise than between liberty and democracy. Hayek claimed that a limited democracy might be better than other forms of limited government at protecting liberty but that an unlimited democracy was worse than other forms of unlimited government because “its government loses the power even to do what it thinks right if any group on which its majority depends thinks otherwise”.
I also share these sentiments. What is right and moral should trump what the mob wants. The mob elected Obama and we’re stuck with him till 2012. The ignorant masses have been granted the right to vote, yet they lack both the mind and the will to move forward. The looters will vote for minds like the above mentioned David Steel who probably gave Obama some of his talking points.

Thirsty?
There are many things that I hate about Chicago. The weather here tops the list. Winters are miserable, taxes are high, and corruption is the norm. Nevertheless, I always used to say that we had the best tap water in the world. Now tests are showing that there are high levels of Chromium in the drinking water! Do we really have to wait for Julia Roberts to come over here and save us?

The option, known as voluntary return, may have allowed hundreds of immigrants – who typically would have gone before an immigration judge to contest deportation for offenses such as drunken driving, domestic violence and misdemeanor assault – to leave the country. A voluntary return doesn’t bar a foreigner from applying for legal residence or traveling to the United States in the future.
Alas, our government doing little to stop illegal aliens and, thereby, promoting more illegal behavior.
