Internal documents earlier showed that Melson was intimately involved in overseeing the program and screened undercover videos of thousands of straw purchases of AK-47s and other high-powered rifles — many of which ended up in the hands of Mexican drug cartel thugs, including those who murdered Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry last December. Fast and Furious weapons have been tied to at least a dozen violent crimes in America and untold bloody havoc in Mexico.
As we saw last week in Britain and in some American cities, liberal redistributionism makes far worse the innate problems it was hailed to solve. But it remains a powerful narcotic to an aberrant elite, one that feels guilty over its apartheid circumstances and is desperately seeking spiritual redemption on the cheap.
They are essentially wild beasts. I use that phrase advisedly, because it seems appropriate to young people bereft of the discipline that might make them employable; of the conscience that distinguishes between right and wrong.
They respond only to instinctive animal impulses — to eat and drink, have sex, seize or destroy the accessible property of others.
These are the London zombies. They are very similar to Obama’s zombies, except they have less access to firearms. This type of chaos will come to our larger cities in time. The flash mobs are prelude to what is in store for all who live near large urban centers. The one important point to remember is that our government subsidizes this behavior, promotes it through failed policies designed to buy votes, and ultimately places the rest of the country at risk. The mob has great expectations of government since it places no demands on itself to produce anything apart from illegitimate children and chaos. Politicians can only smile and write them a check while London burns.
I received this email a week ago and it further demonstrates government’s inability to act responsibly. More examples of clueless and pathetic antics abound. Another excellent example of numbers as it applies to money can be found here. What does a trillion dollars look like? You’ll see. The quoted email below just shaves some zeros off and demonstrates the level of chicanery exercised by our political leaders.
Took ‘em long enough to come up with a budget???
Income: $2,170,000,000,000 (2.17 Trillion)
New Debt: $1,650,000,000,000 (1.65 Trillion)
Amount Cut: $38,500,000,000 (38.5 Billion) – about 1% of
the total budget.Harry Reid is calling this a “historic amount“. The President said it
is a “historic deal”. John Boehner simply said, “We’ve come to an
Let’s Put This In Perspective. It helps me to think about these
numbers in terms that I can relate to.
Let’s remove nine zeroes from those numbers and pretend this is a
monthly household budget for the fictitious Jones family.
Amount of money the “Jones`s” family spent this month: $3,820
Total income for the “Jones`s” family this month: $2,170
Amount of new debt added to the credit card this month: $1,650
Outstanding balance on the credit card:
$14,271 (This represents our national debt).
So last week, the “Jones’s” sat down at the kitchen table and agreed
to cut $38 from their monthly budget. A historic amount!
Are You Impressed?
At the funeral of Gavin Cato, for example “banners commemorating the accident victim shared space with others that said things like ‘Hitler did not do the job’ while Al Sharpton caricatured Jews as ‘diamond dealers’.” In general, says McGowan, the inflammatory statements of Sharpton and the Rev. Herbert Daughtry were downplayed.
One key problem, as McGowan points out, is that in Crown Heights, “reporters analyzed events essentially as a culture clash, a long running feud between two groups equally at fault.”
While this might seem like it is just plain common sense, what Mayor Nutter said undermines a whole vision of the world that has brought fame, fortune and power to race hustlers in politics, the media and academia. Any racial disparities in hiring can only be due to racism and discrimination, according to the prevailing vision, which reaches from street corner demagogues to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Clinton administration has turned the Community Reinvestment Act, a once-obscure and lightly enforced banking regulation law, into one of the most powerful mandates shaping American cities—and, as Senate Banking Committee chairman Phil Gramm memorably put it, a vast extortion scheme against the nation’s banks. Under its provisions, U.S. banks have committed nearly $1 trillion for inner-city and low-income mortgages and real estate development projects, most of it funneled through a nationwide network of left-wing community groups, intent, in some cases, on teaching their low-income clients that the financial system is their enemy and, implicitly, that government, rather than their own striving, is the key to their well-being.
You honestly have to love liberals. How many paths have they paved to hell with all their “good” intentions?
Its the Democrats “heroin dealer” model of government. Apparently, it takes a lot of government workers to minister to the poor, inasmuch as government employment has skyrocketed in tandem with the familys disintegration. As long as Democrats are serving their principal constituency — recipients of taxpayer money — they dont care what happens to the rest of society. They champion any mob that will increase their political power. Liberals promote welfare dependency, class warfare, endless government programs staffed with public sector workers, street protests, coddling criminals and physical attacks on their ideological opponents. This is how they create reliable Democratic voters.
Why isn’t Obama equally disgusted by the black pack attacks? Perhaps because his own church glamorized the thug culture. His mentor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, told his South Side Chicago flock that those committing black-on-black crime are “fighting the wrong enemy.” During the 2008 presidential campaign, Geraldine Ferraro condemned Wright for preaching to young blacks that “it’s OK to beat up on white people.”
Estimating Groupon’s valuation is tricky because the company is growing quickly and nobody knows when it might start making money. Benchmark’s Moran said he came up with the $25 billion valuation based on media reports.
Sure, there’s a reliable source.
