Well fed valedictorian Daniela Pelaez contemplates how un-American cutting in line can be.

MIAMI (CBS4) – A judge has ordered a top student at North Miami Senior High School to leave the country later this month.

The student has lived here since she was four. Now her classmates say they don’t plan on letting her leave without a fight.

Daniela Pelaez, 18, has spent most of her life in the U.S. In fact, she says she can’t remember her native country, Colombia.

The choices that her parents made now haunt this girl.  The irony centers on her parents’ choice to come here in the first place.  They obviously came here for a better life like any one would.  They just decided to cut line.  So now things are catching up with them.  I can’t blame them for coming here.  I wonder if anyone will step up and sponsor them if that is even an option.  Obviously, our borders are unprotected and the law means nothing.  Every now and then a story like this pops up, but Daniela is an exception, not the rule.  I wish her well in a nation of laws where enforcement is perhaps optional when it is objectionable.
