In short, laws are for the plebs.
Hillary clearly had intent to mishandle classified information – she did it, set up a private server to do it, and had her lawyers destroy emails on that server. Hillary also exposed vast quantities of material intentionally – that was intentional misconduct. She didn’t have to purposefully expose those materials so that a specific person would access them, as General David Petraeus did. She could just expose them purposely because she believed it was important to do so to protect her own privacy from government discovery. And as to obstruction of justice, Comey himself acknowledged, “It is also likely that there are other work-related e-mails that they did not produce to State and that we did not find elsewhere, and that are now gone because they deleted all e-mails they did not return to State, and the lawyers cleaned their devices in such a way as to preclude complete forensic recovery.”
Comey clearly didn’t obey the law here. But that was never going to happen. After all, we no longer live in a nation of laws. We live in a nation of Democratic rulers.
Lew told CNN\’s \”State of the Union\” show last Sunday \”there is no option preventing us from being in default if we don\’t have the cash to pay our bills.\”
No option? In reality, we have more than enough cash to pay our debts. Revenues flowing into federal coffers exceed our debt payments by nearly 12-to-1.
Sure, if we breached the debt ceiling, we would have to cut federal spending elsewhere and shut down some unnecessary functions of government — a kind of Super Sequester. But our debts would be paid.
The IRS has paid out as much as $5.2 billion in fraudulent tax refunds to immigrants, and ignored employees who tried to warn agency higher-ups of its mistakes, according to a new audit released Wednesday by the agency’s inspector general. The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration said identity theft fraud could cost the government $21 billion over the next five years unless the IRS takes steps to crack down on the bogus use of Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers ITINs which are issued to immigrants — legal and illegal — in lieu of Social Security numbers, so they can pay taxes.
The chairman of the House oversight committee investigating White House involvement in the botched “gun-walking” program that led to the 2010 death of U.S. Border Patrol agent accused President Obama of downplaying his involvement in the program or intentionally obstructing the Congress’ inquiry. Rep. Darrel Issa’s letter to Obama, obtained on Tuesday, questioned the legal basis of the White House move to withhold subpoenaed documents from the Government Reform and Oversight Committee under protections afforded Obama by executive privilege. The Justice Department denied Issa’s committee the subpoenaed documents last week, prompting the GOP-led committee to vote along party lines to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. The full House is scheduled to consider the contempt citation this week. The White House contends it’s legally entitled to withhold documents related to internal deliberations on policy and advisory discussions among Obama’s senior advisers. It was the first time Obama, who pledged a new era of government transparency, has exerted executive privilege.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has declared that there is no proof that in-person voter fraud is a problem. He’s about to see proof that even he can’t deny.
In a new video (below) provided to Breitbart.com, James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas demonstrates why Holder should stop attacking voter ID laws–by walking into Holder’s voting precinct and showing the world that anyone can obtain Eric Holder’s primary ballot. Literally.
The video shows a young man entering a Washington, DC polling place at 3401 Nebraska Avenue, NW, on primary day of this year–April 3, 2012–and giving Holder’s name and address. The poll worker promptly offers the young man Holder’s ballot to vote.
The young man then suggests that he should show his ID; the poll worker, in compliance with DC law, states: “You don’t need it. It’s all right. As long as you’re in here, you’re on our list, and that’s who you say you are, you’re okay.”
O’Keefe is just demonstrating what we all know already goes on in the real world. It is 2012 and Democrats want to live in the past and reap the benefits of voter fraud. Well, can you really blame them?
Human beings are not random events. Individuals and groups have different histories, cultures, skills and attitudes. Why would anyone expect them to be distributed anywhere in a pattern based on statistical theories of random events? Much less make the absence of such a pattern become a basis for multimillion-dollar lawsuits?
However little evidence or logic there may be behind the belief that an absence of random distribution shows discrimination, there are nevertheless strong incentives for some people to cling to that belief anyway.
Those who lag behind — whether educationally, economically or otherwise — have every incentive to think of themselves as victims of those who are more successful.
Those who want their votes have every incentive to go along, or even to actively promote that idea.
So do those who want to see issues as moral melodramas, starring themselves on the side of the angels against the forces of evil.
The net result is an invincible dogma — and a polarized country.
Beware of too much good luck, warns a classic Greek myth – a lesson that a Michigan woman who won a $1-million state lottery jackpot has learned the hard way.
Michigan’s Department of Human Services has cut off $200 a month in food aid to Amanda Clayton in the wake of media reports that she had won $1 million in the state lottery in September. To make matters worse for Clayton, who lives in Lincoln Park near Detroit, her case has been turned over to state anti-fraud officials.
How long will it take her to burn through that cool million? Guess who she’ll be voting for come November in spite of this!
Soledad O’Brien demonstrated one of the most egregious and embarrassing cases of media bias I’ve ever seen this morning after arguing with Harvard Law grad Joel Pollack about race at Harvard and Critical Race Theory. O’Brien got so over her head, she leaned upon a panelist who reverted to race card as his argument.
Check out the video here. Soledad is really irritating.
I received a bogus email about this hero stating that he just died and the media ignored his passing. That wasn’t the case. Ed Freeman passed back in 2008. Here’s the official citation:
Freeman’s official Medal of Honor citation reads:
|“||Captain Ed W. Freeman, United States Army, distinguished himself by numerous acts of conspicuous gallantry and extraordinary intrepidity on 14 November 1965 while serving with Company A, 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile). As a flight leader and second in command of a 16-helicopter lift unit, he supported a heavily engaged American infantry battalion at Landing Zone X-Ray in the Ia Drang Valley, Republic of Vietnam. The unit was almost out of ammunition after taking some of the heaviest casualties of the war, fighting off a relentless attack from a highly motivated, heavily armed enemy force. When the infantry commander closed the helicopter landing zone due to intense direct enemy fire, Captain Freeman risked his own life by flying his unarmed helicopter through a gauntlet of enemy fire time after time, delivering critically needed ammunition, water and medical supplies to the besieged battalion. His flights had a direct impact on the battle’s outcome by providing the engaged units with timely supplies of ammunition critical to their survival, without which they would almost surely have gone down, with much greater loss of life. After medical evacuation helicopters refused to fly into the area due to intense enemy fire, Captain Freeman flew 14 separate rescue missions, providing life-saving evacuation of an estimated 30 seriously wounded soldiers — some of whom would not have survived had he not acted. All flights were made into a small emergency landing zone within 100 to 200 meters of the defensive perimeter where heavily committed units were perilously holding off the attacking elements. Captain Freeman’s selfless acts of great valor, extraordinary perseverance and intrepidity were far above and beyond the call of duty or mission and set a superb example of leadership and courage for all of his peers. Captain Freeman’s extraordinary heroism and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.”|
